Congratulations to our Rush Canada 2003 Blue team who as 2018 U-15 OASL Champions, was selected to participate in the 2nd annual TFC BMO Champions Cup tournament held this past weekend at TFC’s training ground in Downsview park. The boys played their group games against the top two OPDL sides in the province and came away with a scoreless draw against North Toronto (OPDL U-15 Charity Shield Champion & OPDL U-15 Central 1st place) and a 2-0 win over Oakville (OPDL U-15 Cup Champion & OPDL U-15 West 1st place). Finishing first in our group we advanced to the final against Toronto FC 2003 (OPDL U-17 Charity Shield Champion). There’s no doubt the intensity of the previous two games as well as a serious injury to one of our key defenders in the first half took it’s toll on the boys and while the final result was not one for the record books, the fact that the boys only loss in 2018 came against a professional soccer academy says a lot about the group of players we have in the team.
Coach Rob added: “I’m very proud of their effort and thrilled to have been able to have the boys play in such a prestigious event. Well done to all the players and a big thanks to our parents for their wonderful support this past season!”
Great work boys!
