Oakville – On August 6, 2023 our Men’s U19 Reserve side played a strong North Mississauga team for the League 1 Ontario spring season cup final. 8 weeks earlier we meet the same team for a league game and did not play well so we knew it was going to be an exciting final no matter the result. The game included a missed penalty by Rush in the first few minutes only to concede a goal in extra time just before the break. The players remained positive and spirits were high during the half time talk.

The game became a battle of styles and both teams created some excellent chances to score. Each team hit the post and required their keepers to stand on their head at times to keep the ball out of the net. Midway through the 2nd half we scored the tying goal and felt we had enough to get another. It was a nervy few minutes near the end of the match for both teams, but as the full time whistle blew the game ended 1-1. We went straight to penalties and thanks to some terrific spot kicks and top-class goaltending, Rush Canada won.
