Our Rush Canada 2003 Boys travelled to Dallas this week to participate in the 38th Annual Dallas Cup Tournament. This prestigious competition- hailed as the “world cup” for youth club teams – featured teams from all over the world.
After five highly competitive matches, our boys ended the competition with an amazing 3 wins, 1 tie, and 1 loss. After ending the group stages undefeated, our boys won their quarter-final match against Bethesda U13 Academy in convincing fashion (3-0). The boys then went on to the semi-final where they came up against a very strong FC Dallas Academy. Although they played really well and showed competitive spirit, they came up short in the end loosing their semi-final match 2-0.
In the end, the boys placed top 4 our of 28 highly competitive teams – a rare accomplishment for Canadian teams in the competition.
“After a relatively short existence in Canada, we’re already showing the advantages of the Rush Programs available to its members. During our stay in Dallas Rush Canada was hosted by Rush Dallas who provided us with their hospitality and training facilities. The Rush Canada directors are extending their thanks to all participating players for their effort and diligence, and to the Rush Canada coaches in charge of this age group for the great job.” added Rush Canada’s Technical Director, Slobodan Pavlovic.
Congratulations boys!
