Earlier this week, Toronto FC signed a former Rush Canada Academy player, Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty to the first team. At the age of 15, Jahkeele became the youngest player in TFC history to sign a first team contract.
In 2019, at the age of 14, Jahkeele signed a contract with Toronto FC II and made his professional debut and only a year has passed and now he signed a contract with the first team.
Jahkeele only played with Rush for two years before being picked up by the Toronto FC Academy at the age of 11. Rush Canada’s Academy Director, and Jahkeele’s former Coach at Rush, Bogdan Brasoveanu said:
“At the age of 11, Jahkeele was the most talented young player I have ever seen. He was a part of our 2004 team for two years where he clearly demonstrated that with his talent and potential, the sky was the limit. His reaction speed, execution, speed and acceleration, and finishing with both feet made him outstanding in every game he played in. It was no shock to me that he was selected by Toronto FC in the spring of 2015. We would like to congratulate Jahkeele on his success and wish him all the best in the years to come.”
Congratulations Jahkeele. The sky is the limit
