OAKVILLE – We are happy to announce Rush Canada’s Arsam Shahriary has committed to Nipissing University for 2021.
Nipissing University is located in North Bay, Ontario and the Lakers compete in the OUA Men’s Soccer League.
Over the years Arsam played with Rush 2003 “White” with Coach Alex and later moved to Rush 2003 “Blue” in 2018 coached by Rob Stirling. Arsam currently plays goalkeeper on our League One Reserve side and hopes to continue supporting Rush Canada in the years ahead.
“Although I had numerous options to choose from, I selected Nipissing University because of the location, outstanding science program, smaller class sizes and a great soccer tradition,” Shahriary said. “It’s a perfect spot for me to complete my undergraduate degree before applying to veterinary school. I’m thrilled to be a Laker and hope to be a worthy addition to the school and their men’s soccer team”. “I’m looking forward to working with Coach Tony and cannot wait to get started”.
Lakers head coach Tony D’Agostino is excited to add Arsam to the 2021 recruiting class and to start working with him.
“Arsam is not only a quality keeper, but comes with a great deal of character, is brave and courageous and plays with a great deal of confidence,” he noted.
Our Rush Canada Directors & Coaching Staff wish Arsam every success as he continues both his academic and athletic development.
Congratulations Arsam!
