OAKVILLE – Rush Canada Soccer Academy is pleased to announce that Alexander “AJ” Sabatin has been called up to the Philippine U16 Boys National Team.
Alexander Sabatin (born 2006) has been a long standing member of our U17 OPDL boys team and his performances in the OPDL this season have caught the eye of the Philippine National Team. At the beginning of July he attended the national team training camp where he managed to earn a spot on the AFF U16 Championship tournament roster. Last week, the Philippine U16 National Team started the AFF U16 Championship campaign in Indonesia. They are in Group A with Indonesia, Vietnam and Singapore. They lost their first match 2-0 against Indonesia on July 31st at the Maguwohargo Sleman Stadium, and they play again today against Vietnam. AJ has impressed throughout the tournament and earned a regular starting position on the team.
His performances have also earned him a spot on the U19 AFC World Cup Qualifiers in September, which will take place in Oman and Jordan.
Good luck and keep up the great work AJ!
