Congratulations to our 2006 Rush Canada Academy boys who won the silver medal in the Top Division of the Top Rated Super Cup.
The boys had a perfect record in the group stages topping their group with 3 wins – enough to secure 1st place and give them a spot in the tournament final. The final match took place in exceptionally windy conditions against a very strong and talented Vaughan OPDL team. In the first half, the boys fought hard against the wind but ended the half 2-0 down. They scored a goal in the second half, kept fighting, and came close to equalizing with an effort that hit the crossbar and a missed penalty kick, however, the game ended 2-1 for Vaughan after a highly entertaining and competitive 70 minute final.
“Over the past couple of weeks, our boys played in two extremely competitive tournaments and took on some of the top players from Canada and the United States. They played in the Jaguars Invitational in Michigan and the Top Rated Super Cup and advanced to the finals of both tournaments without losing a single game in the group stages. In the end, the boys won two silver medals. I am extremely proud of the way the boys played throughout both tournaments and their achievements. I look forward to seeing the boys develop and keep progressing as we kick off the start of our outdoor season.” said Head Coach, Ivan Juric.
