The Premier Development League is the highest level of amateur soccer in the United States and Canada. The PDL offers collegiate players an opportunity to develop in a highly competitive soccer environment over the summer while they are away from playing with their school. The league has proven to be an avenue for collegiate players to make the jump from amatuer soccer to the professional level after graduation.

Based at the Capelli Sport Headquarters in the New York City area, the Cedar Stars Rush operation will utilize the full range of Cedar Star’s locations and facilities both in the big apple and New Jersey.

Former Rush Alumni and current Director of Operations for Rush Soccer, Justin Miller, will lead the Cedar Stars Rush as the General Manager.

“The objective is to help run a strong first year PDL team for our Rush players,” Miller said. “This league is growing and there are many programs around this area. The key this year will be to help build a strong foundation for our future goals of being the top PDL team in the division, and then the country.”

Miller will be joined by Technical Director Juan Santamaria, current Technical Advisor at the Cedar Stars Academy.

The Cedar Stars Rush team will offer a brand new experience for Rush Soccer players. The team will allow elite level youth players and current Rush Alumni in college the chance to continue their growth. The team will bring together the best players from Rush Soccer and Cedar Stars Academy who have the necessary skills and drive to reach professional aspirations. This partnership will prepare Rush players with what is necessary to make the jump from elite youth and college level soccer to the professional ranks of U.S. soccer and beyond.

“We are excited to be bringing this new program to the Rush Soccer network,” Tim Schulz, President of Rush Soccer shared. “The Rush has always strived to build one of the most unique and robust player development pathways in the world. Adding this team to our pyramid will bring us one step closer to reaching our goals.”

All of Rush Soccer Nation would like to welcome Cedar Stars Rush to the Rush Soccer Family!
